DIY Door Wreath | Quick Craft

Okkkk... So I'm back with the easiest DIY I have done yet. It is even Alexa and my sister approved!! I saw this wreath on pinterst and just had to give it a try. Didn’t really realize how easy it would be to do it but y’all know me….I am all for the easy as I’m dabbling my hands in the DIY fun.
Here’s what you need:

-Grapevine wreath...aka to me as Stick wreath. Purchased it at hobby lobby for $4.99. There was a way to make your own but it involved my bathtub and like 2 days of working on it...so I opted for the easier method.

-Flowers: I picked hydrangeas because they were one of my wedding flowers and I just think they are beautiful. I got them at Hobby Lobby (they have EVERY single color you could think of) for $5.99 each and bought 3 different stems. They were on sale for 50% off so watch for the ad.

-Letter or Numbers- I went with the beginning letter of our last name because our house has like 3 spots where the number is obvious but do what makes you happy. I got my letter at...wait for it...Hobby Lobby for $3.49 plus 40% off. woohoo! Momma loves a deal!

-Acrylic paint: the color I used is called Purple Pizzazz and is beautiful. If you've seen my wedding pictures or looked around my blog you can see that I'm obsessed with these color tones.

-Hot glue gun: please use with caution...that baby gets hot!

-Wire Cutters: I had to use my husbands huge tree trimmers because I forgot this at the store. hehe

-A good friend: Use at your own discrepancy to help you figure out positioning!! hehe Thanks Alexa!

Now for the 5 easy steps to make your own wreath!

1. Cut the stem of the flowers until there is only a 2 in stem left. I had to cut mine down after I placed them on the wreath but it will just depend on what flowers you get, what size wreath you get, etc.

2. Paint your letter so that it can be drying. I just used a simple sponge brush although a bristle brush might give it a cleaner look.

3. Arrange the flowers on your wreath. Try out a couple of different spots and text pictures to your friends for their opinion and ideas too (thank Alexa).  :)

4. Make sure your stems aren't sticking out of the back. With this type of wreath and depending on the flowers you use....after you stick your flowers in, you may not even need to hot glue them in place. Mine had a thicker stem so it stayed really well between the sticks in the wreath. Happy with your arrangement? Then let's move on.

5. When your letter is done drying, place it on the wreath in random places until you find the perfect spot... then put hot glue on the back of the letter and stick it on there.
1st timer mistake....I didn't put enough glue the first time around. I went to show it off to my husband and oops...there went our H off the side.... USE LOTS OF HOT GLUE!

TA-DA

Y'all seriously that is it. Like I said...one of my favorite and easiest DIY projects to do. Even my sister has "put in an order" for one and she is VERY hard to please. GO me! hehe

I almost shed a tear (I blame hormones and Pinot!). Hydrangeas were also one of my wedding flowers. I had them in white, pink and green. This is awesome. I also have a wreath tutorial on my blog (somewhere haha) but this seems so easy for spring. Thanks for this. And H is my last initial too! Thanks for making it for me (I kid haha)

This looks great and I LOVE the colors! Purple is one of my favs! :) I kinda giggled about using the "tree trimmers" because you forgot the wire cutters. I specifically bought PINK wire cutters thinking this would mark them as MINE....but oh no. I've had to take them out of my husbands office more times than I can count! :P
