DIY {I Love You Because Frame}

Today you will find me guest posting over at Love, Fun, and Football about how to break your New Year's Resolution. Go visit Erin and say hi for me!!!

Sooo since my coffee mugs were a big hit (and by "big" I mean you all left some fun comments), I figured.."hey why not try something else." Sometimes I think that it takes someone showing you how easy it is for you to actually DO IT. Thankfully pinterest shows you how x 10000 because everyone like to repin the same thing... Well this little post kept coming up so I got a little excited at the store today and figured..ehh let's give it a try.

Supplies needed:
  • Someone you love: husband, boyfriend, mom, dad, sister, brother, babies or kids....y'all I was just thinking while I was typing, wouldn't this be great for an older child? Instead of notes in the lunch kit, leave notes on their frame. I still have all the notes my parents left for me. They (kiddos) WILL thank you later on.
  • Scissors
  • Picture frame (I'll admit this...mine is a $2 frame from walmart)- any size you want but mine is an 8x10
  • Scrapbook paper- I always buy those books that are like 5 dollars for a crap load of fun paper
  • Flowers- I bought mine in the craft section...you can make your own but I wasn't even going to try that....not yet
  • Hot glue gun and glue- handle with care :)
  • Printer or awesome handwriting- I hate my handwriting so my printer came in handy.
Steps To Make Your Very Own "I Love You Because..." Board

Step 1
Decide on the background for your frame. I say go light so that your writing shows up really well. Our house is all browns and tans so...wa-la.

Step 2
Print out "I love you because" on your scrapbook paper. This proved to be a daunting task for me because I can never make it easy on myself. I cut my HUGE scrapbook paper to the size of a normal sheet and then did a couple of practice sheets to make sure the spacing was right...again I'm a perfectionist....gotta let that go. lol The suggested font was century gothic and some downloaded font but my computer hates me so I used one I had downloaded a long time ago - Holiday Home

Step 3
Put your paper in the frame....yes...it's as easy as that. Just do it.

Step 4
Cut or make your flowers. I wasn't about to try making mine (YET) so I bought ones that are like the colors from our wedding. If you have been around my blog for a while, you know it's my obsession. hehe

Step 5.
Decide where you want your flowers. Play around with it until your happy.

Step 6
Glue on your Flowers with your hot glue gun. I held mine on there for about 20 seconds and they stayed very well!

Step 7
Write your loved one a note and set it in the perfect spot!

Original Post.... I'm not crafty enough to make my own flowers (YET) but I just loved this idea.

Such a fun, sweet idea! I like leaving mirror notes with an Expo marker :) But this frame is far prettier than that!

You go girl, do that ish yourself!

Love this! It's been on my "To-do" pinterest list. Did you know every week there's 2 bloggers who do a "Pinterest" link-up?? It's one of my faves of the week and perfect for things like this!

This such a great idea, I'm now trying I think of ways to alter it so its appropriate for me and my housemate, maybe a "just a message to say....." or something like that.

I love your version of this. My good friend did one last year and her and her husband take turns writing on it and leaving it on each other's bathroom sinks so they see it when they get up. I'm totally like you with crafts but have found that the more I attempt them the better I get at them so good for you for trying more!

This is so cute! The handmade flowers are seriously SO simple! I promise! :) I made some first try with long strips of spare fabric. There are easy to follow tutorials online! Here's one that I used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1_opWfpZvw&feature=player_embedded Love your blog, by the way! Newest follower.
