Check & Check...I Got This

I love making these lists to keep myself on track and in line. Do I always get everything done? No. And that's perfectly fine with me, but it's nice to have something that keeps you accountable and working towards things that you want to accomplish. For some reason writing them down and pressing publish makes me kick it into high gear and work towards things that I would other wise maybe not do.

February's Get It Done List

Take every day by the...horns:  This "to do" doesn't necessarily get a strike through but definitely a strike under. I feel like I did a pretty good job at this. Yes I love Fridays, but I found myself enjoying the days with my kids and enjoying my evenings at home. Something I want to keep working on.

Show and Tell Michael how appreciative I am of him: This is something that I feel should be ongoing. Since it was Valentines Day, I decided to do the 14 days of love. He LOVED it and I so loved doing this for him. These were just a few of my favorites...and maybe the only ones I remembered to take pictures of.

Sponsor it out: I LOVED offering sponsors this month and seriously had the best 8 girls I could have imagined. I think when you sponsor a blog, it's amazing how much the person promoting your blog can get out of it. I am hooked on all of the blogs that I was lucky enough to promote and will continue to read and support them as time goes on. Thank you ladies...you were a great first group to promote. I am thankful for you all.

Photobook challenge: this has been on my list since like...umm...October maybe...and I finally have all the pictures downloaded, the front cover and the back cover done, and pretty much all the pages set up. Just have to add some cute buttons and this will be done, done, done.

Operation cleaning out my closet: I so love doing this, even though I probably do it like once a month. My friend teaches at a school near by and is also a youth leader at her church and so I always pack up all my things that have been sitting in my closet and give them to her for them to go through. If you ever find extra clothes laying around, go to your local high school and talk to the counselor. There are so many young girls who would love a cute cardigan or shirt that you may have outgrown.

"Pump up the jam blood.. Pump it up while your feet are stompin' and the jam is pumpin": FAIL, FAIL, FAIL....that's all I have to say about that.

Continue working on long term goals: Again here with the half ways did it.... writing in my journal about a positive thing from every single day, weening myself off of certain social media websites (said goodbye to facebook), 2013 Good times Jar, and drinking more water and less Dr. Pepper (constant struggle).

Snail Mail Lovin' and Pay it forward: I love sending mail and this has been something fun I started a few months back. I just love sending mail...emails don't always do this justice sooooo I send things by horse drawn carriage way of the local post office.
Continue giving my blog the love and attention it deserves: when I started this blog, it was just for me to come and write out things that were on my mind, a creative outlet, a journal, and place to meet people, but goodness it has become just so much more. I want to continue making it a place you all want to visit every day because you can connect with the things that are here. This is a constant to do...always.

Be a better bloggy reader: I have been a silent reader for way too long. I really took some time this month to hop on Bloglovin, organize my favorite blogs, and take the time to sit and comment on the ones that I read. I think this is so important as a bloggER and a blog READER. Letting people know that you are there, you are reading, and that you connecting with or understanding what they are putting out there.

So as for March's "I Got This" List...

Being the best version of me: I saw this on pinterest and just thought it was perfect. I want to be that type of person. I made mistakes in my past but am always looking to better myself in the present. The past is over and done with...I'm looking forward to what today, tomorrow, and the rest of my future has in store and want to go into it being the best me that I can be.

Have a phone/email/social media break: I want to set aside an hour every day that I seriously put my phone on "do not disturb" and just sit outside (weather permitting) and relax without checking twitter or my blogger account every second.

Finish/start Shutterfly projects: this includes both last year's that I need to FINISH and this year's that I want to get started.

Sign up for a 5K I have been wanting to do.

Prep myself and my body for that 5K: The date is May 5...let's do this.

Paint the guest bedroom.....and possibly the office.

Take an online class for my camera, photoshop, or just a motivating class. I love learning.

Read 2 books: I'm currenly 2 chapters into one, and want to continue with The Happiness Project.

Complete 4 DIY projects: These are good for the mind and soul.

Continue working on long term goals: Continue writing in my journal about a positive thing from every single day, taking time away from my phone, email, and social media, 2013 Good times Jar, and drinking more water and less Dr. Pepper (constant struggle).

Happy Wednesday Friends. Have a great one!

I kind of disagree with that quote because unfortunately, there will always be someone who disapproves or doesn't like you, or just finds something to criticize about you. Some people have to do that so they can feel better about themselves. It's lame.

Your little Valentine's gifts are so cute!

I love that you post monthly goals.... I may have to steal that idea!! I am very goal oriented and love that a month is a nice timeframe to do things in!

I also think your idea for 14 days of love for your hubby was a great one! :)

I am new to your blog, but if you havent run before I would recommend C25K, its GREAT and really helped me start out when I picked it up a year ago!

I love this monthly list! I always try to do this but never write it down. Then I forget what I wanted to do. We can work on it together :)

THIS IS AN AWESOME POST!

I make constant to do lists but I never make lists about how to be better. This is a great idea. I get so weighed down by to do tasks like laundry, dishes, cooking, etc. etc. I need to make lists with more things on how to be a better person.

Also, I think you will love The happiness project, I read and posted a little about it here: http://magsmind22.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-quest-to-continue-blogging-begins.html

Wow you are on it! I have a list about that long for the entire year not one for each month haha. I love the one about taking an online photoshop class because that's one of mine this year too! If you start doing one and recommend anything then let me know because I need some motivation haha.
